DOABLE

DOABLE

1 Chronicles 28:20

“And David said to his son Solomon, “Be strong and of good courage, AND DO IT; do not fear nor be dismayed, for the Lord God—my God—will be with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you, until you have finished all the work for the service of the house of the Lord.”

Let me tell you about SOME PEOPLE WHO SAID IT COULDN’T BE DONE!

The “experts” said nobody could run a mile in four minutes! “The bone structure’s wrong! The wind resistance is too much! The lungs can’t handle it!” They had 101 reasons why it was IMPOSSIBLE! But on May 6th, 1954, Roger Bannister didn’t just prove them wrong – he DEMOLISHED their limitations! And since then? Over 500 people have done what they said couldn’t be done!

And check this out! Bishop Milton Wright stood in his pulpit and declared, “Man will never fly! If God wanted us to fly, He’d have given us wings!” But his own sons – his own boys, Wilbur and Orville, put the whole world in the air!

LISTEN TO ME! The Bible isn’t just a book – it’s an “ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN” MANUAL!

  • You can’t have a baby at 90? SARAH DID IT!
  • You can’t outrun a chariot? ELIJAH DID IT!
  • You can’t survive in a whale? JONAH DID IT!
  • You can’t walk on water? PETER DID IT!
  • You can’t come back after four days dead? LAZARUS DID IT!

God has CALLED you! ANOINTED you! POSITIONED you! ORDAINED you for such a time as this! You don’t just have potential – you’ve got KINGDOM POTENTIAL!

The Lord told me to go long this week! Sometimes you’ve got to stop playing it safe! Sometimes you’ve got to launch out into the deep with nothing but God’s Word!

1 Chronicles 28:20 fires me up! We get to eavesdrop on a holy moment – a king of a mighty nation dropping wisdom on his son! And let me tell you, there’s some HOLY SWAGGER in his delivery! Listen to what he says: “Be strong man. Have courage, AND DO IT; don’t be afraid. The Lord God—my God—will be with you!”

David knew what he was talking about because he LIVED IT! He stands out as God’s model for doing the impossible! Now, I know what some of you are thinking: “Oh no, not another David and Goliath sermon!” But hold up – this isn’t your Sunday School version! I’m about to show you some fresh truths that’ll set your faith on FIRE!

Check out this divine set-up in 1 Samuel 17! Daddy Jesse tells his youngest son David, “Hey son, take these sandwiches to your brothers on the battlefield.” Simple enough, right? Just a lunch delivery! But God had something BIGGER cooking!

See, David thought he was just running errands. Daddy thought he was just sending his boy on a food run. But God knew there was a nine-foot problem standing on that battlefield that needed to be handled! This wasn’t just about delivering lunch – this was about delivering a nation! This wasn’t just about sandwiches – this was about victory! David showed up thinking he was DoorDash, but God had him tagged for destiny!

How many times has God set you up like that? You think you’re just going through your normal routine, but God’s got a GIANT-SIZED assignment waiting for you! This is why you’ve got to stay ready! Because what looks like an ordinary errand might just be God’s extraordinary assignment! What looks like a

You can see the power of reassignment in a true story about a friend of mine. He was headed to the gas station – nothing special, just picking up some Rolaids because his wife. Simple assignment, right? WRONG! Because God specializes in holy interruptions!

My friend gets to that gas station, and suddenly the Holy Spirit starts nudging him. “You see that man in that car over there? Go talk to him.” Now, you know that’s not normal! Who walks up to strangers in cars at gas stations? But when God reassigns you, you MOVE!

So he walks over, knocks on this man’s window, and says, “Sir, this might sound crazy, but God told me to come talk to you.” And what happened next sent chills down his spine. The man looked at him and said, “It must have been God, because I was sitting here planning how to end my life.”

Come on, somebody! What looked like a Rolaids run was actually a rescue mission! What seemed like a simple errand was actually a divine appointment!

This is why you’ve got to stay sensitive to the Spirit! Because God will ABSOLUTELY mess with your plans! Your original assignment might just be God’s setup for something bigger! You might think you’re going to work, but God’s sending you to be somebody’s miracle!

Somebody Shout, “Reassign Me, Lord!”

Let’s dig deeper. Here are four things that’ll revolutionize how you face your giants …

  1. PARADE YOUR CREDENTIALS!

“You can’t fight him; you’re just a boy…” The Lord rescued me from the lion and the bear … rescue me from the hand of this Philistine.” 1 Samuel 17:33,37

When Saul asked, “Why should I let you fight”, David uploaded his resume’. He applied for the job! King Saul brushed him off as being incapable. “Your inexperienced David, unqualified. You’re just a boy.” David amended the interview by parading his credentials. He came with a testimony … “While you were all sleeping, I was out there taking down lions and bears! I am so much more than a tunic and a pair of sandals; I am a beast slayer … GIVE ME THE JOB!”

Here’s the strategy that most people miss – when David faced his giant, he didn’t focus on Goliath’s size, he started recounting God’s victories! He became a holy historian! Listen to me carefully – some of you are facing giants today, but you’ve forgotten your testimony!

You’ve forgotten how God:

  • Delivered you from that addiction
  • Provided when the bank account was empty
  • Healed your body when doctors said it was impossible

Stop downplaying your testimony! If God delivered you from the lion, He can deliver you from the giant! If He did it in your past, He can do it in your present! David understood something: Once you’ve defeated your personal lions and bears, you’re qualified to help others defeat their giants! Your private victories prepare you for public battles!

  1. WEAR YOUR OWN CLOTHES!

“Then Saul put his own armor on him” … “I cannot wear this,” he said to Saul, “because I am not used to them.” So he took them off. (Vs 38,39)

God’s trying to teach us something powerful through David – stop trying to be somebody you’re not! When David showed up, Saul tried to make him look like a proper warrior. “Here, wear my armor. This is what a real soldier looks like.” David tried it on but it didn’t fit right … so he took it off!

Let me tell you something – people are always trying to put their armor on you! “Pastor, you need to speak like this. Look like this. Act like this. Lead like this.” But here’s what I’ve learned – you’ve got to wear your own clothes! Their armor might look good, but if it doesn’t fit, it’ll just slow you down!

The enemy loves to whisper in your ear about what you don’t have. “Is that all you’ve got? Just a little sling? Just a little rock? How pathetic!” But that’s a lie from the pit of hell! Sure, God can use people with fancy equipment, but He also uses folks with nothing but a sling and a stone! It’s not about what you’ve got – it’s about the anointing on what you’ve got!

Here’s why this is so important – David wasn’t a soldier, he was a shepherd. And that’s exactly what God needed! You know why? Because Goliath knew how to fight soldiers. He’d been killing warriors his whole life! But he had no strategy for a shepherd boy with a sling!

Some of y’all need to hear this today – stop apologizing for who you are! Stop trying to fit into somebody else’s armor! God anointed you to be you, not a copy of somebody else! Your difference isn’t your weakness – it’s your weapon! God didn’t call you to fit in – He called you to stand out! Your authenticity is your advantage!

  1. SNUB THE CRITICS!

“The Philistine looked David over and saw that he was little more than a boy, and he despised him.” Vs 41

Let me tell you something about critics – David had them coming from every direction! His own brother doubted him, his king questioned him, and don’t even get me started on Goliath! But here’s what I love about David – he didn’t let the critics stop him! And trust me, critics are everywhere! They’re cheap! You can find them on every corner!

Look through your Bible – it’s full of critics! They were yapping at Moses, running their mouths at Noah, talking trash to Nehemiah, coming against Jeremiah, chasing down Elijah, and even criticizing Jesus himself! But watch this – every one of those mighty men used those critics as fuel and kept moving forward!

You want to know how to handle critics? Snub them! Because if you give them your ear, they’ll poison your perception! The Bible says in Revelation 2:29, “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says” – not what the critics say!

Let me ask you something – who here knows who Eliab was? Don’t feel bad if you don’t! He was David’s oldest brother, his biggest critic – and nobody remembers him! You know why? Because critics don’t leave legacies – BELIEVERS DO!

People will try to convince you that you’re too weak, too small, too insignificant, too ineffective. But here’s the truth – Eliab was the weak one, not David! Some of the people around you right now don’t want to see you advance. They’re comfortable with you staying small!

But I dare you to say these three words: “Let’s try it!” That might be the only positive voice you hear, but sometimes that’s all you need! Don’t let the critics write your story! Gods got the final word!

  1. USE YOUR MEGAPHONE!

David shouted in reply, “You come to me with a sword and a spear, but I come to you in the name of the Lord of the armies of heaven and of Israel…” Vs 45

If you’re going to do what they say can’t be done, you better open your mouth! This ain’t no time to be quiet!  You want to see victory in this nation? We can’t be silent! You want to see victory in your family? We can’t be silent! You want to see breakthrough in this church? We’ve got to open our mouths!

Let me tell you something about giant killers – they know how to use their voice! When the enemy comes shouting fear and intimidation, you better shout back! That’s exactly what David did! He didn’t whisper to Goliath – he shouted, “You come at me with a sword and a shield, but I’ve come in the name of the Lord, of the Most High God!”

Victory comes with a sound! In Acts 2, there came a sound from heaven! When’s the last time you made a sound of victory? Some of y’all are entertaining the voice of fear, worry, depression, and discouragement. Start trash talking your giant! Open your mouth and declare, “The God that I serve is mightier than any giant in my life!”

Here’s the thing – all things are doable! When you face what looks impossible, don’t shrink back in fear! Look for the assignment! Pick up your stones! Take aim at your giant! And let your rock fly! Because the same God who helped David take down Goliath is alive and well in this house today! He’s just waiting for somebody to open their mouth and declare His victory!

Can I get a shout of victory in this house?! The giants are coming down!
